Albert Nelson (Bert) passed away on March 12, after a long illness. He is survived by his partner of 33 years Barbara Galecki and his twin sister Lois De Setto. Bert graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Stonybrook University and his master’s degree from Baruch College. He had a long career in finance working in several banks in New York City. Bert had a keen mind and was curious about many things. He had many hobbies including photography, doing crossword puzzles, hiking, biking, and canoeing. He belonged to the Appalachian Mountain club and developed many lifelong friendships with its members. He also enjoyed his weekly sessions with his exercise group and attended all their social gatherings. Berts real passion was cooking he loved to experiment with different spices and cuisines. Bert was sensitive and compassionate. He gave so much love to his family and many friends. Bert will be missed by all. Memorial Celebration of Life Service 11-1pm March 18th 2023 followed by luncheon at 1:30 pm at Venus Restaurant 546 Hempstead Ave, Hempstead, NY
